Looking at the emotion or state of anger, trying to understand what needs to be communicated when we feel angry, and how to help clients move through anger into action. What topics will we cover? An introduction to primary and secondary emotions, creative andor fun ways to communicate and express - with an emphasis on making contact. By the end of this course you should be able to: Have more confidence in meeting anger in others and in yourself. Be able to distinguish a primary and a secondary feeling. Discovered some creativity I not previously known in yourself Be awarre of some tools to use with clients. What level is the course and do I need any particular skills? Aimed at those who are comfortable with experiential groupwork and willing to look at their own process as a way of learning. A good support network preferable. Probably working with people in some setting, not necessarily counseling. Previous experience of interactive groupwork and therapeutic work with emotions preferred. How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class? Some theoretical explanation. Mostly experiential, creating experiments including possible use of drawing, writing, etc, and interacting with other group members. Attention to understanding for myself how you can make use of the learning in your own work setting if you want to do so. There will be teaching input, discussion, pair and group work, visualisation, movement work and drawing. Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring? None. Do I need to have an interview before I can enrol? No. What feedback will I get? You will receive regular feedback from your tutor throughout the course, as and when appropriate. At the end of the course you and your tutor are asked to assess the progress you have made. You will feel more confident in a group and with your clients or colleagues and will have less doubt about taking risks and making contact. How will I be able to give my views on the course? Please complete the evaluation form at the end of your course. These are monitored and help us to continually improve our courses. How do I find out if I can get some support for my learning?
