Course Description

Working In Care Introduction Level 1 Overview This course runs for 6 weeks and will give you an introduction to providing a high quality standard of care or support. It will give you basic information and skills necessary for work in social care. Each unit contains a number of areas of knowledge that you need to know about before you can work safely without close supervision. Each topic is made up of outcome's which you will complete throughout the course. A college certificate will be gained on satisfactory completion of the course. Description This programme consists of 6 units: Unit 1 - Understand the principles of care. Unit 2 - Understand the organisation and the role of the worker. Unit 3 - Maintain safety at work. Unit 4 - Communicate effectively. Unit 5 - Recognise and respond to abuse and neglect. Unit 6 - Develop as a worker. How long is the course? 10 Weeks How will I be assessed? You will be required to attended the 6 taught sessions and complete the outcomes by the end the course. The taught sessions will include activities which when completed successfully will meet the outcomes. This will then be used to complete a workbook. What does the course lead to? When you have successfully completed your induction you may develop your job role to include new areas of work. You may progress on to Health & Social Care NVQ Level 2 or if working with people with learning disabilities may complete the Supporting People with a Learning Disability programme.
