Course Objectives :- Basic construction, names of components and the purpose and use of all controls and gauges Use of the operator?s handbook, etc Pre-use, start, running checks and close-down procedure Preparing the excavator for site and road travel Travelling the excavator over differing types of terrain, including rough, undulating ground and up and down substantial inclines Manoeuvring, progressing to confined spaces in a forward and reverse direction Positioning and setting the machine to excavate Precautions and actions for underground and overhead services and other hazards Soil and material characteristics Excavating below ground lever Loading vehicles and hoppers Backfilling, grading, spreading and levelling different types of terrain How to remove and re-attach different buckets Placing the excavator in an out-of-service condition Loading and unloading procedures on and off a transporter Trained operator achievement test Duration : Novice - Ten days; Experienced - One day worker assessment Max Number of People : Venue : You must have your own machine or have access to hire and carry out training on your own grounds / or PTP to hire for our own site Cost : Upon Application Course Reference : CPCSA21 Optional Follow-up courses: Manual Handling ? First Aid ? Other Plant & Machinery ? NVQ Level 2 in Plant & Machinery ? Red Card Operators must complete 300 hours per module and complete the NVQ within 12 months to obtain the Blue Competence Card
