Course Description

The main aim of this session is to assist learners with their role in identifying defects and repairs, ordering repairs from the Schedule of Rates (if applicable), using the present technology and organise surveyors and other specialists. By the end of the course learners will be able to: Identify the equipment and paperwork needed to carry out property inspections. Use and improve technical knowledge for basic building construction to assist in identifying defects. Have a basic understanding of the 3 ?Ds? - Drainage, Dampness and Defects diagnosis (Plumbing, Services and Central Heating and Fixtures and Fittings). Liaise and communicate with owners, tenants, surveyors and contractors for the required repairs, by being able to prepare mini specifications. Carry out an inspection of a property that is void and/or occupied.
