Course Description

What will you be learning? This course can lead to work as a body refinisher or body repairer technician. Depending on the specialism you choose, you will cover both theory and practical aspects of a selection of the following modules: Preparing vehicle panels to accept foundation and topcoats; preparing and applying foundation materials to vehicles; repairing minor paint defects; removing and fitting non-welded non-structural body panels; removing and replacing non-structural body panels and health and safety in the workplace. You will be assessed throughout the year on practical tasks, written exams and tests. What happens when you have finished? After you have successfully completed this course you can progress onto a Level 3 Diploma in Vehicle Body and Paint Operations - Refinishing/Body Repair (IMI) or find employment as a body refinishing/repair technician. Tuition Fee: ?1035 Exam & Registration Fee: ?84 You may not have to pay this tuition fee if: You are unemployed and in receipt of Jobseekers Allowance (contribution-based) You are in receipt of, or are an un-waged dependent of someone currently in receipt of any of the following income-based benefits: Income-based Jobseekers Allowance (JSA) Income-related Employments and Support ALlowance (ESA) Income Support Working Tax Credit (your assessed household income needs to be less than 15,276 per year (amount subject to change) Housing Benefit Council Tax Benefit (excluding the 25% single person reduction) Pension Credit - Guaranteed only You are studying for your first full Level 2 qualification, whatever your age. You are aged 19-24 on the 31st of August prior to the start of your course and studying for your first full Level 3 qualification, whatever your age.
