Course Description

The aim of this programme is to introduce future defence engineers to the conceptual approach of overall design of unmanned air vehicle (UAV) systems including concepts of operations, communications, payloads, control and navigation, multiple air vehicle architectures. The course is modular and has a project, which can be completed in industry. The course structure defines three levels of modules: foundation, compulsory modules and optional modules, plus project. Each module has an entry pack that specifies the knowledge required to study the module and an exit pack consisting of an assignment which is assessed. The project will commence at the University, but can be carried out in industry under the supervision of a University supervisor and an industrial mentor.
