Course Description

Thai massage is much more than a series of techniques applied to the external physical body, as in the Western notion of massage. It does include soft tissue manipulation, but the emphasis is on stretching and loosening the body and working with the energy flow within. Its goal is to restore a state of balance to the whole person - mind, body and soul. The spiritual aspect of Thai massage is important and practitioners work in the spirit of loving kindness and compassion. The masseur will therefore perform his art in a meditative mood. As he works he does so with full awareness and total concern for the recipient's physical and mental wellbeing and an intuition for the energy flow in the person's body. Massage given in this way is a healing experience for both giver and receiver. This revised, fully updated course enables the student to learn a complete Thai Massage sequence and to understand and apply the philosophy behind it.
