STEPS: Basic Skills What you will study Steps are courses for people with significant learning difficulties and/or disabilities. The courses provide an opportunity to develop and improve skills and confidence in a variety of subjects and settings. This course is designed to meet the individual student?? s learning needs. The course offers: number and money skills, reading, writing and social awareness. Developing new skills to aid independent living and to foster a sense of personal independence. Who the course is for Courses for people with a significant learning difficulty and/or disability. How you will study Both courses will offer a variety of delivery methods from a Tutor supported by a Learning Support Assistant. (We offer both an Entry Level and Pre-Entry Level course.) The courses are classroom based but external visits are incorporated in the planning. How you will be assessed Various assessment methods are used. The learner will be actively involved and encouraged to be part of assessing their own learning. Qualification Title AQA Course Length The course runs over 34 weeks and is 3 hours in duration.
