Course Description

Solar Thermal Domestic Hot Water (BPEC) This course covers the predominant fluid filled, indirect solar water heating systems and collector types including; fully filled sealed systems, drain back systems, flat plate collectors, evacuated tube collectors and direct flow evacuated tube collectors. On successful completion delegates will be awarded a BPEC Solar Domestic Hot Water qualification which assists in proving competence to install, commission and maintain solar domestic hot water systems. To attend this course delegates must be experienced in the installation of domestic cold and hot water systems and hold a current G3 certificate in Unvented Hot Water Storage Systems. Delegates should also hold a recognised competence in a conventional fuel; an NVQ level 2 or equivalent plumbing qualification. Experience in basic electrical practice is desirable alongside an understanding of the Water Regulations 1999.
