Senior Management Coaching and Development Programme Introduction to the programme The Shifting Minds senior management coaching and development programme gives organisations the opportunity to provide tailored development for their key senior managers. We see the programme as a great opportunity for participants to build on their existing capability and prepare for future challenges. The programme is designed to provide the following benefits:- For the participant:- Receipt of 360 degree feedback on leadership style and related skills areas - allowing strengths and development areas to be identified and discussed An opportunity for the participant to set their own development goals and areas Coaching and development focused on the participant?s agreed development areas - the Shifting Minds coach will use a mixture of performance coaching and selected development materials from our proven expansive range of management training programmes A focus on working with participants to help them bring about changes in the workplace - supported and encouraged by their Shifting Minds coach over several weeks A great opportunity to work with an objective coach in a completely confidential approach - all feedback to the organisation is jointly agreed by the participant and coach For the organisation:- A highly professional, focused and flexible way to develop senior management capability A demonstration of your investment in individual senior managers Your staff will benefit from working with highly skilled and experienced business coaches Provides a key building block in your overall training and development strategy Here is a small sample of the types of development areas addressed by the programme:- Helping individuals prepare and transition into more senior / strategic roles Adjusting the balance between ?professional / technical responsibilities? and ?providing leadership and support to direct reports? Improving working relationships across functions and geographical boundaries Developing a wider range of influencing strategies for working effectively with clients and colleagues Improving the leadership and management of large, complex change programmes Improving working relationships with team members and key stakeholders via enhanced interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence Building confidence and self belief Getting clarity on personal career plans and choices Developing key business skills, for example:- advanced presentation skills, time management and team planning Programme format: The programme has four stages which are outlined below. We may make some agreed adjustments based on the specific needs of participants Diagnosis stage Understanding the context by:- Briefing / planning sessions with key stakeholders and participant Agreement of participant specific questions Completion of an online 360 degree feedback on leadership style and participant specific questions (up to 4) (Completed by the participant, manager, direct reports and and selected peers / others) We will select an appropriate 360 tool, based on the individual?s specific needs Intervention stage Face to face full day coaching and development session with participant, covering:- Setting up the coaching contract Detailed review of the feedback from the 360 report and participant specific questions Possible work shadowing, areas often covered include team meetings, personal organisation and team planning Personalised management training which addressing highlighted development areas Agreeing and communicating development goals Agreeing the ongoing coaching activity Ongoing coaching stage Five fortnightly coaching sessions of c. one hour (face to face or by telephone) to discuss and review progress and agree the actions that will lead to further changes in working style Evaluation stage For the participant - co-production (with coach) of a summary report to manager For the organisation - collection of feedback from key stakeholders Optionally - at six months
