Course Description

A large percentage of accidents happen from falls so it is not surprising that companies are demanding only certificated operators be allowed to use such equipment on their premises/site. This course is essential for persons who use scaffolds regularly in their line of work and for site managers responsible for employees working from a scaffold. The course provides excellent training for those required to undertake mandatory scaffold inspections. Course Overview The course, which is part theory and part practical, involves: Classroom based training on the safety issues whilst working at height either from towers, ladders or steps. Practical training in the erection and dismantling of portable towers. Understanding the legislation governing the use of scaffolding and the application of NASC SG4:05. Identifying and understanding the use of the various components. Understanding the erection sequence and the fixing of scaffold members. Learning the requirements for protection to prevent falls of persons or objects. Selecting equipment used to mitigate the outcome of a fall. Selecting ladders or alternative means of access and egress. The selection, use, storage and maintenance of fall protection equipment. Understanding how to complete the scaffold register. Carrying out a practical scaffold inspection.
