Safe Use of Pesticides Ground Crop Sprayer (PA2) Who is the course for? This course is for the professional user or anyone who requires the National Proficiency Test Council (NPTC) Certificate in the Safe Use of Pesticides, using a hand-held applicator (knapsack sprayer). In accordance with the Food and Environment Protection Act (FEPA) regulations (1985), sprayer operators are required to receive adequate training before operation of specific spraying equipment. What will I study on the course? The course covers calibration, preparation/operation of the applicator, carrying out daily routine maintenance of the applicator and cleaning of personal protective equipment/sprayer after use. What makes this course special? It gives you the practical skills and underpinning knowledge that is required prior to being assessed for the Certificate of Competence, as required by legislation. How will I be assessed? A practical assessment with an external NPTC assessor for NPTC PA6 following the course. How long is the course? A one day course held on demand running from 9am - 5pm. Assessment to be arranged with the local NPTC secretary. Will this course lead to a qualification? The NPTC Safe Use of Pesticides Hand-Held Applicator PA6 qualification.
