Course Description

Content: The course provides an explanation of pneumatic logic control systems and uses practical examples to build and demonstrate a range of pneumatic logic circuits. Objectives: On completion of the course participants will be able to: ? recognise the advantages of using logic language to describe machine operations ? be aware of modular construction of moving part devices such as 'OR', 'AND', 'NOT', 'YES', and 'MEMORY' and describe their function in circuits ? recognise and interpret logic symbols ? use truth tables ? design and build simple logic circuits. ? build a fully interlocked sequential type circuit ? describe methods of preventing opposing signals ? describe the operation of safety circuits ? diagnose and rectify simple faults in pneumatic logic systems Prerequisites: Personnel should have a knowledge of programmable logic controllers.
