Course Description

On this programme you will explore issues in philosophy of the cognitive sciences, the nature of intentionality, physicalism, philosophical issues concerning rationality and interpretation, and consciousness. You will study three philosophy modules: Research Skills and Methods for MA students Philosophy of Mind Philosophy of Cognitive Science or Philosophy of Health and Happiness You will also complete cognitive science modules in the School of Psychology, or in the School of Computer Science and complete a 12,000 word dissertation. You will be taught by a vibrant community of philosophers and cognitive scientists, who pursue original research on a wide range of topics which means expert supervision is available for your dissertation. You will be able to explore issues in the following areas: philosophy of the cognitive sciences the nature of intentionality physicalism philosophical issues concerning rationality and interpretation consciousness.
