Course Description

This course aims to enhance students? theoretical and practical knowledge and understanding of how reading skills develop, how to assess reading skills, and how to support students who have written language difficulties. The emphasis is on the adoption of an evidence-based approach to evaluating theories, methods and intervention strategies. Th course has only 60 credits ? preferable to undertaking a full masters for individuals who are in full time employment. It contains practical skills and theoretical aspects, plus methods to get to grips with techniques for teaching reading, whilst opening up a world of possiblities for people learning to read.
