Course Description

This course follows on from the above PT Cert programme and provides a choice of modules relating to Medical and Clinical Education. Emphasis is on the practical application of educational methods and theory and the development of reflective, evidence based practice. Programme Structure You must already have the 60 credit PG Cert in order to continue to the PG Dip. At the discression of the Programme Director credits may be imported from other institutions (must be at Masters level and a relevant subject area) but you must have 23rds of your total credit with University of Bristol in order to graduate. You need to take four 15 credit units to obtain the Diploma (60 credit points making a total of 120). Each is linked to an assessed piece of work and attendance on 2 study days. You may then wish to progress ot the MSc, for which you will need to submit a 15,000-word dissertation thesis (60 credit points, making a total of 180). Entry requirements * PG Cert in Teaching and Learning for Health Professionals (60 M-level credits) * Relevant first degree from a recognised institution with good final grades or a relevant equivalent professional qualification plus at least three years full time (or equivalent part time) professional experience * Currently working in the health professions or a health service environment * Currently undertaking some form of teaching and or support of learning and have (or be able to easily create) the opportunity to be observed in a teaching role. The candidate must be undertaking adequate teaching, learning and assessment activities to enable them to complete the assignments for the Programme. * An IELTS score of 7.0 or above (overall) AND 7.0 or above in all aspects of the IELTS tests, for students whose first language is not English. We regret that the university does not accept other test resultsformats. * Basic Computer Literacy (broadly equivalent to the standard of the European International Computer Driving Licence see the ICT guide on our website Applicants may wish to apply for credit from previous institutions to be considdred as accreditation of prior credits towards the programme, but this can only be done within the University's established framework.
