Course review: National statistics on the reporting of aggressive and violent incidents in the workplace has become an area of concern for many different types of industry and disciplines. Reports of aggressive and violent incidents in the workplace rank healthcare professionals including nurses and care staff at the top of the list for dealing with day-to-day conflict including violent attacks. This TMVA Module 2 open course date is specifically focused on residential care clients, in particular the elderly, learning disability clients and forensic mental health clients. Course participants will understand the benefits of individual personal safety awareness when interacting with a potentially aggressive or violent individual. It gives credible instruction on appropriate physical disengagement skills which promote best practice for both staff members and the client. The Therapeutic Management of Violence and Aggression (TMVA) programme has been written and is regulated by the General Services Association (GSA).
