Course Description

Almost every enterprise spends a significant amount of time trying to ensure that their entire organization works as efficiently and effectively as possible. This is typically accomplished through a range of initiatives designed to develop effective leadership, teamwork, a focus on quality and customer service, the greater use of creativity and innovation, effective goal setting, better communication processes, employee empowerment and engagement and other programs. However, all of these initiatives are dependent upon every individual fully playing his or her part in the process. This topic concentrates the key behaviours needed for each employee to assume greater responsibility and individual leadership within their own role and contribute positively and proactively to the organization''s goals and ultimate success. This Rapid Skill-Builder? shows you how to apply the following key action steps: 1. Taking responsibility and initiative as well as becoming more action-oriented are the first steps in becoming more personally effective 2. Exchanging information, ideas and general feedback with your colleagues ensures a strong base of sound data upon which to make decisions 3. Developing yourself is an important and on-going responsibility, and can also prepare you to help develop others on the team (or within the larger organization) 4. Listening attentively to others (including employees, suppliers and customers)is essential to personal effectiveness, and takes significant time and attention 5. Stretching your own personal boundaries and standards should be continuous and evolving over time, and will help push the organization, as well 6. Delivering quality of output, greater value to the organization and meaningful results are all personally rewarding as well as beneficial to the organization of which you are a part Rapid Skill-Builder Mechanics and Components Each topic in the Rapid Skill-Builder series operates in the same way with a number of elements for both the facilitator and the participants: 1 DVD Programme (around 20 minutes in length) The DVD programme on disc 1 provides around 20 minutes of explanatory material in four sections (although the disc can be paused at any stage according to facilitator or participant needs).
