Qualification Name: NVQ In Performing Engineering Operations (Level 2) Course Name: Performing Engineering Operations - Mechanical NVQ2 Course Code: TLRE Centre: Willesden Applies to: School Leavers and International Students Availability: Full Time (2 or more days per week Monday - Thursday 9.00 - 18.00) Part Time Day (1 day per week Monday -Thursday 9.00 - 18.00) Who is this course for? This course is for you if you wish to further your engineering skills and knowledge What are the entry requirements? You do not need to have prior knowledge, although it may be advisable to have either the EAL NVQ1 or previous industrial experience. After applying you will have an interview to determine which course is suitable for your needs and abilities. Minimum Literacy Level: Entry 2 You can read and understand short pieces of writing such as letters, messages, simple stories, timetables and adverts. You can write short pieces of writing - for example an email to a friend, a simple letter, a story or a message. Minimum Numeracy Level: Entry 2 You can work with numbers, symbols, and simple diagrams. You can add and subtract simple numbers and use simple fractions. You can use money, tell the time, measure things and know about squares, triangles and rectangles. What qualification will I receive? You will receive EAL's Performing Engineering Operations NVQ 2 Where can it lead? You can go on to study advanced courses such as VRQ level 3 or NVQ Level 3 What will I study? You will study how to working safely in an engineering environment, developing yourself and working with other people on engineering activities. Subjects you will study include: Using & Communicating Technical Information, Identifying & Selecting Engineering Materials, Marking Out For Engineering Activities ,Applying Quality Control In Engineering, Fitting Using Hand Skills, Machining Engineering Materials, Maintaining Fluid Power Systems Maintaining Mechanical Devices & Systems, Assembling & Testing Fluid Power Systems, Producing Sheet Metal Components & Assemblies, Joining Materials By Welding, Cutting Materials Using Oxy-Fuel Gas Cutting Equipment and Using Computer Numerical Controlled Machines. How will I be taught? You will attend practical and theory classes gaining relevant skills How will I be assessed? You will be assessed by completing a portfolio of work which is assessed and verified as the course progresses What support is available while I am on the course? All students will be allocated a personal tutor. The colleges extensive learning resources are available to all students What will it cost? Full Time Overseas FeesUp to ?4500* UK Home FeesUp to ?1460* Age under 19 on 31st August of the year you start your course? Study for FREE. On income-based benefit? You could study for only ?30.
