Part Time Sports Leader UK Award in Sports Leadership Level 1 How & what will I learn? The award is a nationally recognised qualification that helps people over the age of 14 develop their leadership skills. It's a practical qualification where candidates learn through being part of and leading sports sessions. The course focuses on generic skills, which can be applied to a variety of different sporting activities as well as contributing to the candidate's personal and social education. Qualifications needed to start There are no formal entry requirements to join the course, however all learners must have a passion for sport and enjoy working with young people. What qualification will I gain? You will gain the Level 1 Sports Leadership Award. Progression on completion & career opportunities On successful completion you can then move onto the Community Sport Leadership Award Level 2. Will I have to take an exam? No, assessment takes place throughout the course in the form of observation, witness testimonies, course work and written questioning. How long does the course last? Usually run in a week long summer school (Please see course guide for exact dates) Our Resources We have staff who specialise in sports coaching along with up to date resources and class rooms. Other information to consider Learners must show commitment, enthusiasm and enjoy taking part in a variety of sports.
