RHS (Level 2) Certificate Horticulture Level: 2 Location: BH Years: 1 Course Summary This one course covers both parts of the syllabus including the topics:- Part 1 : The Plant Kingdom, Plant Propagation, Outdoor Food Production, Garden Planning Part 2: Root Environment and Plant Nutrition, Protected Cultivation, Plant Selection Establishment and Maintenance, and Plant Problems. How will I be assessed? Assessment is by two examinations - one after Part 1 and the second after Part 2. Both are of 1 ? hours duration - each contains 15 short answer questions and 3 (from a choice of 7) longer answer questions. How much time will I spend on the course? Each morning session is three hours in length plus afternoon attendance on 4-5 weeks for practicals and visits. How is the course delivered? This is a classroom based course using a variety of teaching methods. Who is this course suitable for? Suitable for those wishing to enter the profession and for keen gardeners wishing to have their horticultural knowledge assessed. Many people take the qualification as the first step in changing to a new career in horticulture. What are mandatory modules or units? All units and both examinations are mandatory. What materials do I have to provide? All course books are available in the library. Are there any additional costs or specialist equipment required? N/A What can I do after this course? National Certificate in Horticulture offers a 1 year full time Level 2 course. National Diploma Horticulture offers a 2-3 year full time Level 3 course What careers would this course be useful for?
