This course is designed to produce HR professionals who are knowledgeable and competent managers in their own right, as well as having their own specialist knowledge and skills in the area of the management and development of people. Topics covered include Leading and Managing People, Managing within a Business Context, Managing Information for Competitive Advantage and People Resourcing. This course is validated by Anglia Ruskin University with year 1 covering the Certificate in Leadership & Management and year 2 covering the Diploma in Human Resource management ?? leading to Graduate Status in the CIPD. Interview / Skills Assessment Yes What will I need? One of: ? First degree from a recognised university ? An S/NVQ Level 5 ? A Certificate in Personnel Practice (CPP) and the Certificate in Business Awareness and Advanced Professional Study (the CIPD?? s bridging unit) ? A CPP or HNC or HND or foundation degree in a business related discipline and relevant experience in a managerial role or role with professional responsibility ? Appropriate, relevant and significant experience in a senior post of management or professional responsibility What is covered? The postgraduate level programme is designed in two parts. Part one is the Certificate in Leadership and Management: The first year is devoted to three modules based around a theme of general management and one module with a specific human resource management focus. The modules are: Leading and Managing People; Managing within a Business Context; Managing Information for Competitive Advantage; People Resourcing. Part two is the Diploma in Human Resource Management: The second year focuses on four HRM modules designed to support the strategic and operational activities of HR professionals. The modules are: Employment Law; Employee Relations; Learning and Development; Integrated HRM. In order to achieve graduate membership of the CIPD, students are required to complete a management report and a CPD portfolio. Students will work with tutors on an individual basis for this. The CIPD qualification is the foremost award in the field of Human Resource Management and is held by many UK and international HR directors. This qualification will equip you with the knowledge and skills to enhance your career prospects and prepare you for strategic and operational HR management. ?
