NVQ 2 Playwork Level: 2 Location: OTHER Years: 1 Course Summary You need to complete 6 mandatory units. The qualification qualifies you to work as an assistant in a play setting working with children 4-16 years, out of school club, breakfast club and holiday activities. How will I be assessed? You will be assessed in practice in your play setting. You will be required to produce a portfolio of evidence to meet the criteria of the units. How much time will I spend on the course? 2.5 weekly sessions at College. How is the course delivered? Class sessions - 8 each term, includes tutor input around a variety of topics linked to various units. Who is this course suitable for? Anyone working in a play setting - either paid or voluntary with limited experience of working with children. What are mandatory modules or units? PW1 Contribute to positive relationships in the play setting. PW2 Support children and young people's play. PW3 Contribute to the health and safety of the play environment. A52 Contribute to the work of the team. C35 Deal with accidents and emergencies. C36 Support the protection of child abuse. What materials do I have to provide? No specific materials required. Are there any additional costs or specialist equipment required? Maybe beneficial to have a Playwork text book. What can I do after this course? NVQ level 3 Playwork. What careers would this course be useful for? Playworker, Childminder, Early Years Practitioner and, with further training, Youth Worker.
