Mechanical Engineering HNC EDEXCEL Course Level: Higher level - Higher Education standard Reference Number: QET4BM14/CCP1 Introduction Those wanting to progress into engineering or gain professional recognition both within and outside their company. Similarly, those wanting to progress into engineering or gain professional recognition both within and outside their company. Similarly, those wanting to progress to HND, a degree, or eventual Engineer status. You must have the ability to self motivate and a willingness to learn new skills and techniques. What will be covered in the course? HNC Mechanical Engineering To gain an HNC, 10 units must be completed (a further six gains a HND). The core consists of five units: -Business management techniques -Analytical methods for engineers -Engineering science -Project -Mechanical principals Five further units are selected from a list which includes: -Engineering design -Materials engineering -Robot technology -Computer aided machining -Advanced computer aided design techniques -Programmable logic controllers -Further analytical methods for engineering -Engineering systems -Quality Assurance and Management Each unit is broken down into four independent modules which are assessed by assignment. BTEC Higher National Certificate in Mechanical Engineering. It is possible to: -Convert this qualification to an HND by completing six more units (a total of 16 units) -Gain entrance to the second year of a three year degree Professional incorporation by the completion of bridging studies and professional interview. How is the course assessed? All Modules are assessed by assignment. One of the course units is a project, this may be completed as an individual or as a team and can be College or work based in nature.
