Awarding Body University of Glamorgan UCAS code:C22, Route A , Route B Course Content This is a well established two year, full-time course that provides a thorough grounding in all aspects of Electrical and Electronic Engineering and combines the hardware and software subject areas demanded by the industry; additionally it provides the student with a sound basis for continuing education. Course Features Incorporate health and safety, environmental issues and sustainability throughout the course Ensure that the content matches the needs of industry and society at large Establish the relevance of engineering to real world problems by using scientific knowledge To gain and develop skills of information gathering, research and critical assessment to support engineering activities Be able to see the inter-relationships between theory and practice To gain an understanding of engineering principles and practice and be able to solve a range of technical and design related problems Appreciate and use a range of engineering computer applications in all stages of activity from design to delivery Career Prospects and Progression Successful completion of the HNC will qualify students for entry to HND/degree courses in related subjects. Careers that are directly related to this discipline include: Electrical and Electronic Development Engineering; Design Engineering; Production Engineer (Technical Sales) and CAD Technicians. Electrical and Electronic Engineers are employed by the manufacturing industry; service industries; the armed forces; research organisations and the National Health Service Modules Electronics I; Electrical and Electronic Principles; Mathematics for Engineers; Electrical and Electronic Principles and Simulation; Electronics II; Introduction to C Programming & Embedded Systems Programmable Logic Controllers; Further Mathematics and an Individual Project. Method of Assessment Assessment is by a combination of continuous assessment and end of module examinations. Course Length 2 Years Time of Delivery Day and Evening Campus Graig Campus Bilingual Provision This course can be studied in English only Entry Requirements HNC applicants should have successfully completed a National Certificate/Diploma in an Engineering subject, an AVCE or two A Levels in a relevant subject or equivalent.
