This course is for you if: The course is ideal if you wish to work in housing or if you are currently working in housing and wish to gain an understanding of policy, law and practice in housing. You will develop a wide range of skills, including, communication skills, and self-management which will enable you to perform effectively at all levels within the housing profession. About the course: This course offers students the opportunity to learn about a range of Housing Law and Management issues. The skills you will develop are key to the work place. By studying this course, students will gain an awareness of the social, political, legal and economic issues relevant to housing. - The Built Environment - Housing Law - Organisational Analysis - Housing Management -Construction and Maintenance - Housing Histories - Housing Welfare and Community Care - Funding Social Housing - Information and Research (Project) - The Development Process - Society, Economy and Governance Assessment: Written assignments, presentations, group work and one written test. After the course: Once you graduate from HNC Housing Studies you can progress further and study a degree at South Bank University. You will also obtain Professional Membership of the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH).
