Part Time Health & Social Care : Preparation for Retirement Is this course for you? The course aims to help people who are about to retire, to cope with the considerable changes this entails. The changes obviously affect finance - and also the need to manage new use of time, different demands on mind and body, changes in the amount of social contact and so on. Support is provided to enable people to think about life in Retirement and discuss the issues involved in an informal and relaxed atmosphere How long is the course? The part-time course is 1 day per week for 6 weeks. When you will be attending. 1 day per week (Friday) between 10.00 am - 4.00 pm. When does the course start? Friday 16th April 2010 What's the course about? The course is about: Financial arrangements Libraries Wills Interests Pensions and State Benefits Taxes and Savings Outside visit to local places of interest Management of change Relationships Health in Retirement Crime prevention Educational Opportunities An information pack accompanies the course. Each week course members receive a luncheon voucher towards the cost of lunch in the refectory. A buffet is provided on the last day. Refreshments in the form of coffee, tea and biscuits are served during the breaks. There are opportunities to meet people in similar circumstances and to make new friendships. Is work experience a necessary part of the course? The course is for people who have just retired or are about to. How will you be assessed? There is no assessment. What qualification will you achieve? Not applicable What can this course lead to? This course can lead to new opportunities and interests approaching and during retirement including community volunteering, hobbies and activities. How much will the course cost you? 220.00 with a reduced fee of 110 for partners.
