Part Time Health & Social Care : NVQ Level 3 in Health - Hearing Screening Is this course for you? This qualification, introduced in 2005 is based on the new National Occupation Standards for Health. This level 3 pathway of the NVQ Health is especially designed for assistants and helpers who support a range of professionals. Many are hospital or clinic based but this qualification may be suitable for workers in community based services or general practices. How long is the course? Learners must commit to completing the NVQ award within 12 months of their start. When you will be attending. There is no requirement to attend College classes or workshops. Your assessor will meet with you to plan and guide you through the award and to undertake observations of your every day work. You should make a commitment to meet your assessor at least twice each month. Your assessor will work directly with you giving you 1:1 support. They will be adaptable and accommodate your work patterns. When does the course start? This course is available to start at any time through the year based on assessor availability. What's the course about? Each learner will complete 10 units to achieve this NVQ award. The mandatory units include:- Undertake a newborn hearing screen using an Automated Otoacoustic Emission screen (AOAE) and an Automated Auditory Brain Stem Response (AABR) Promote effective communication for an about individuals Maintain Health and Safety in a clinicaltherapeutic environment Promote choice, well-being and the protection of all individuals. There are a further 23 Clinical or Therapeutic competencies to choose from to complete the award. Is work experience a necessary part of the course? You must be working in a clinical environment before you start the course. How will you be assessed? Assessment is by direct observation of your every day work witness testimonies from managers and colleagues, and the production of a portfolio of evidence. This will be internally verified by senior staff in the NVQ Centre on a regular basis throughout your award. What qualification will you achieve?
