Health and Social Care (Level 3) City and Guilds NVQ Level 3 (Scheme 3172) Day: Induction Monday Date: September, January and April You have up to eighteen months to complete the qualification Aim of course To provide an appropriate qualification for senior carers working with adults in social care settings that meets the requirements of the Care Standards Act 2000 To arrange work based assessment of practical skills by an approved assessor in order to achieve the full NVQ award. To provide the necessary knowledge requirements for Level 3 NVQ Health and Care Entry Requirements Programme DetailsContents You will be required to attend one induction session and four workshops covering the knowledge required for NVQ3 Health and Social Care. The level 3 awards consists of four core units (one of which is contextualised to the Adults Pathway): UNIT HSC31 - Promote effective communication for and about individuals UNIT HSC32 - Promote, monitor and maintain health, safety and security in the working environment UNIT HSC33 - Reflect on and develop your practice UNIT HSC35 - Promote choice, well-being and the protection of all individuals and four optional units. There are additional units for continuing professional development (CPD) but these units do not form part of the overall award structure. You will be given guidance on the presentation of knowledge evidence, but your assessor will guide you in building your portfolio of evidence that you will present for accreditation. AssessmentExamination Details There are no exams. To achieve the NVQ in Health and Social Care you must show a qualified assessor that you are able to work in line with national occupational standards and that you have sufficient knowledge and understanding about the work you do. Progression These new NVQs allow progression within and between levels and across sectors. Candidates can take up the Continuing Professional Development opportunities through the optional and additional suites of units. If you are in any doubt as to your status please ask for advice on enrolment. Refund of fees will only be paid in the event the College cancel the course, or if you notify the College of your intention to withdraw from the course 2 weeks prior to the start date. Fee Reductions If you are in receipt of an income based qualifying benefit, you may be entitled to a fee reduction on tuition fees only. All other charges as shown above will need to be paid in full. Please remember to bring evidence of entitlement with you when you come to enrol. You can apply to enrol:- By calling in to the ReceptionInformation Centre situated in Fleet Building at any time. Times of Opening are: 8.15am-8.00pm Monday to Thursday and 8.15am-5pm on Fridays. During half terms, Christmas, Easter and Summer breaks, opening times are 8.30am -5.00pm Monday to Friday. Rehabilitation of Offenders Please note, to help us look after students and assess risks, you will be asked to declare any unspent criminal convictions when you apply to do a course at Weymouth College. Please note Courses are operated on a minimum number of students and may, on rare occasions, be subject to cancellation. In the event of cancellation any fees paid will be refunded in full.
