Health, Childcare and Social Care Increased Flexibility School: 14-16 Attendance Type: Part Time Course Level: Level 1 Course Length: Two years Course Schedule: One day a week during school term time 9.00am to 3.00pm. Entry Requirements: Demonstrate commitment, motivation and enthusiasm to succeed on the course. Academic Progression: After successfully completing this course you could move onto the Level two First Diploma in Health and Social Care. Full Description: Course Description: If you want to go into a career in health or care such as nursing or working in a care home, this qualification will give you a BTEC Introductory Certificate in Health and Social Care Level one, which is equal to two GCSEs at grades D-G. You will need to show that you have the maturity and enthusiasm to work with people who have a variety of needs. You will explore the different jobs that are available in health and social care, and learn about the practical skills you need to do care work. You will also find out how your skills can be applied to the job and expand your knowledge of looking after children. You will also have the opportunity to visit local care homes and play groups. You will be given written pieces of work which will be marked by your course tutor.
