Part time Foundation Degree in Health and Social Care Duration : Three years Locations : Beverley Attendance : Part time What is the course about? The course is intended to equip learners with the knowledge, understanding and skills to meet the increasing demand on professionals working in the health and social care sector. It comprises of the first two levels of a degree, with the possibility of studying the third level at university. The course incorporates the Leadership and Management for Care Services Award, which is a level four qualification required by those in managerial positions in the care sector. Level four in Health and social care is also incorporated. What will I study? Modules include: Study skills, personal and professional development Enhancing quality of practice Approaches to partnership Legislative and statutory regulations within health and social care Managing a care setting Continuing professional practice How will progress be assessed? A range of assessment techniques will be used such as essays, reports, presentations, professional discussion, learning logs and professional development portfolios. Additional information This course is delivered Part time and is run as an evening class over three years, with the occasional Saturday morning. Private study and workplace learning are also important elements of the foundation degree. Validated by the University of Hull
