Course Description

What you will study: You will study generic modules which will include topics such as Further Mathematics, Condition Monitoring of Industrial Systems, Computer Aided Design and Engineering, Professional and Personal Development, Power and Drives. You will be guided in your choice of specialist modules, which will depend on whether you wish to follow the Electrical or Mechanical pathway. Work based learning is also an important part of the course. How you will learn: A combination of formal and informal sessions including practical and resource based learning activities with tutorial back-up. How you will be assessed: Submitting reports to show how you applied the knowledge gained to your place of work, along with some end of unit examinations. Entry Requirements: You are expected to have some form of relevant employment or academic background to enable you to relate theory to practice. Students with higher level qualifications will be exempt from the earlier stages of the course. Attendance : Attendance is normally one day a week for 30 weeks per year. A one week summer school at Bradford University is also required.
