Electrical Installation: City & Guilds 2330 Level 2 (Part-time) What you will study Intended for those training for, or newly employed in the Electrical Installation industry. The course provides the first part of the underpinning knowledge for the NVQ. Working effectively and safely in the electrotechnical environment Principles of electrotechnology Application of health & safety and electrical principles Installation (Buildings & Structures) Who the course is for Our day-release course is intended for those undergoing training for, or those newly employed in the electrical installation industry. Our part-time courses are aimed at new entrants or people wishing to re-train or change career to become a qualified Electrician. How you will study Classroom, resource and workshop based actvities. How you will be assessed 1) By course work, practical tests, and externally set assignments and multi-choice tests. 2) Inspection and Testing Practical. 3) Project. Qualification Title City & Guilds 2330 Electrical Installation Level 2 Course Length Course length and costs vary depending on the following modes of attendance: 1 day per week ( Tuesday 9.00am - 5.00pm) for up to 2 years Course code: TK41521 Cost: ?450 per year Start date: 15th Sept 2009 2 days per week (Tuesday and Wednesday 9.00am - 5.00pm) for 1 year Course code: TK41551 Cost: ?650 per year Start date: 15th Sept 2009 2 evenings (Tues and Thurs 6.00pm - 9.00pm) per week for 2 years Course code: TJJ022861 Cost: ?450 per year Start date: 15th Sept 2009 Course Availability The course is available at the following campus(es): Rhos-on-Sea Entry Guidelines General literacy and numeracy. As part of the interview process you will be asked to sit a short aptitude test; you must pass this test. This will confirm that you have the standard of Maths necessary to start the course. Normal colour vision is essential as is the ability to work at heights and in confined spaces. (To progress to Level 3 Electrical Installation: City & Guilds 2330 level 2 is required) Your Options After the Course There are opportunities for electricians in agricultural, commercial, domestic and industrial areas of the Electrical Contracting Industry. Electricians are employed by a wide range of employers, including electrical manufacturers, building firms, engineering companies, local government, hospitals and colleges. Some installation electricians are self-employed or work on contract for different firms and customers.
