Electrical/Electronic Engineering HNC (Part Time) Higher National Certificate (HNC) (Level 4) Programme Code: TEHHE Awarding Body: BTEC/Edexcel Related Programme Areas: ENGINEERING ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC HIGHER EDUCATION Who is the programme for? This programme is primarily for people who possess an Engineering GNVQ or National Certificate in Electrical/Electronic engineering. It is intended for those who are in either full-time or part-time employment, as well as unemployed people. What will I study? There are a minimum of 10 units to be studied on this HNC programme, some of which are as follows: - Electrical and Electronic principles* Electronics Project* Business management techniques* Analytical methods for Engineering* Engineering Science* Engineering Design* Electronic Computer-Aided Design Programmable Logic Controllers Electrical Power * = Core Modules Entry to the Programme? How is it assessed? All units are assessed by a selected combination of assignments, progress tests, laboratory work, classwork, case studies and formal end of session written examinations. Future prospects? The HNC in Electrical and Electronic Engineering provides learners with the skills demanded by industry. The Certificate meets the entry requirements for related HND or Degree programmes, including the HND in Manufacturing, the HND in Mechanical Engineering, the HND in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and the HND in Plant and Process Engineering. When will the programme start? The programme will start in September 2010 How long will it take? The two year part time programme requires attendance at College for one day and evening per week.
