Dog Grooming Taster Day Level: 7 Location: BH Years: 1 Course Summary This course is a taster for individuals who are considering becoming a canine beautician, or for those who wish to learn the basics of grooming their own dog. The day covers the care and grooming of dogs which includes handling and restraint, how to use a range of grooming tools, the principles of bathing and drying dogs, common parasites and their prevention. How will I be assessed? Assessment is by observation of your practical performance throughout the day. How much time will I spend on the course? 5 and a half hours. How is the course delivered? NA Who is this course suitable for? This course is for anyone who has a keen interest in dogs and wants to try out the basic principles of bathing and grooming. What are mandatory modules or units? NA What materials do I have to provide? You will be required to source a fully vaccinated dog to bring with you on the day, along with their vaccination certificate. You will need to notify the course leader (Sue Oliver) of the dog you are bringing with you on the day. Are there any additional costs or specialist equipment required? The College runs a commercial salon and all equipment within the salon is used on the course. Sensible flat footwear, trousersjeans, are required to be worn. Protective tabards are worn when in the salon and they will be provided for use on the day. What can I do after this course?
