BSc (Hons) Complementary Medicine (Subject to validation) Course Overview The popularity of Complementary Medicine has led to a need for highly trained therapists working in practical, consultancy, supervisory, research and managerial settings. The one year Top-up degree gives therapists and those in health-related fields a recognised academic qualification to support their practice. What will I study? The Top-up programme is run over one intense day per week, tailored to your individual needs and specialist environment. Assessments are negotiated with the module tutor to reflect the projects you are undertaking at work. Two option modules and your research dissertation are undertaken on health topics of your choice to provide Continuing Professional Development (CPD) evidence. During the programme, you will have access to a variety of seminars and International trips delivered by specialists in a variety of subjects including Ecotherapy, Mindfulness, Homeopathy, Mental Health and Crystal therapy. Modules can include Reflection, Supervision and Mentoring Entrepreneurship and Practice Management Case Management: Health and Healing Perspectives Dissertation Contemporary Psychotherapies Counselling Skills Mental Health Issues Stress Management Homeopathy Naturopathy Course Requirements Students should hold a Foundation Degree in a Health, Counselling or Care related subject. For those with substantial academic and practical experience in the Health sector a blended-learning weekend and online study option is available. Don't have the grades to get on the course? Don't worry Blackburn College provide full and part time top-up courses. Progression Upon completion of the course, students can progress onto a Health-related Masters degree programme, or may gain employment as a researcher, trainer, mentor, supervisor, manager or work in the NHS, health centres, clinics, spas and fitness centres.
