City and Guilds 2330 Level 2 Electro-Technical Certificate (Part-time) Attendance Part-time Day Duration 2 Years Level This is a Level 2 course Times Starting 8 Sep 2009: Twelve Quays: Tue 09:00-16:00, Wed 09:00-16:00 Starting around 6 Sep 2010: Not yet timetabled It is planned to offer this course in the academic year 2010/11. How to Apply/Enrol Application Form to be returned to Learner Services Course Outline A part-time vocational course for those who are employed in the electrical installation industry. Profile The course is balanced between theory and practical sessions and covers those skills necessary to work in the electrical installation industry. The aim of the course is to give you the ability to perform practical tasks relevant to electrical installation with the associated underpinning knowledge in science and technology. Core Units: Unit 1 - Working effectively and safely in an electrotechnical environment (Stage 1) Unit 2 - Principles of electrotechnology (Stage 1) Unit 3 - Application of health and safety and electrical principles (Stage 2) Occupational Unit: Unit 4 - Installation (Buildings & Structures) Additional Information Protective clothing (e.g. boots and overalls) will be required for workshop practice. Funding LSC Remission Available Qualifications Offered (in next Class) CG 2330 Electro-Tech PT (This is a full Level-2 qualification) Funding Stream: 22 - Learner Responsive Fees: Tuition: ?900.00, Registration: ?11.00, Exams: ?64.00 Please Note: These are current course fees. Later courses may be charged at a different rate. Fees quoted are on an individual student basis only. Opportunities You may progress to a C & G Level 3 Electro-Technical Certificate or related technology courses or seek employment in a related field. Entry Requirement Specific requirements - Employed in the electrical installation industry. Communication skills - Basic communication skills are necessary. Additional support is available subject to assessment. Literacy - Basic literacy skills are necessary. Additional support is available subject to assessment. Numeracy - Basic numeracy skills are necessary. Additional support is available subject to assessment. Information Technology - Basic computer literacy is an advantage but not essential. Manual dexterity and physical stamina - An essential requirement particularly for workshop practice.
