Children's Care Learning & Development NVQ 3 CACHE Course Level: Level 3 - Further Education equivalent to ASA2 Level, BTEC National Diploma or NVQ3 Reference Number: QHS3NE06CCP1 Introduction If you are employed in the children's workforce in care or education, this course is for you. Candidates need to be working in a supervisory capacity with children and young people 0 -16 years, be employed and have responsibilities for planning and assessment. Learning & Development OCR Adult Literacy Level 2 OCR Adult Numeracy Level 2 How is the course assessed? The course assessed mainly in your workplace by observation of your practice. To demonstrate your underpinning knowledge you may be asked to complete reflective accounts, research tasks and undertake professional discussion based on your research. A short college based study programme is included to develop your knowledge of theory, policy and practice. Costs Course Fee *: ?760.00 Examination Fee: ?101.00 * Payable for each year if the course is longer than 12 months. Additional costs Textbooks are available in the library however you may wish to purchase your own copies to support your course. Attendance and additional study hours Please contact the NVQ centre for the times of the underpinning knowledge workshops. There are several start dates available at Blossomfield and Woodlands Campuses If you need to access Literacy and Numeracy sessions, these will be arranged to fit in with your workshop times Further information An Interview is required to join this course. Each candidate is entitled to approximately 20 hours contact with their assessor, the programme will usually be completed within a 12 month period.. Candidates must be in a childcare setting in a supervisory capacity looking after children & young people from 0-16 years. Solihull College offers full time and part time courses for businesses and residents in Birmingham, Walsall, Wolverhampton, Coventry Warwickshire and the whole of the West Midlands. Students can progress onto Higher Education, including our Early Years Foundation degree, which provides progression to Initial Teacher Training or early years professional status. NB for Teacher Training you must have Mathematics, English and a science subject at GCSE Grade C or above If you wish to undertake Early years Professional Status must have English and Maths GCSE grade c or above programmes. There is a range of professional development short courses available to prepare you for studying at Foundation Degree level Entry Requirement You need to be working in a supervisory capacity with children and young people 0-16 years, be employed and have responsibilities for planning and assessment. You will need relevant level 2 qualifications or at least 3 years experience working with children. Ideally you will have Level 2 English and Maths skills. (GCSE grade C), If you do not have these we will expect you to be working towards level 2 during your training.
