Our British Horse Society Stage 2 stable management training programme is an excellent progression from the Stage 1 course. It will give you a thorough understanding of general management and requirements of horses' health and well being. It is a very practical course which allows you to develop both the skills and knowledge to care for both grass kept and stabled horses during all seasons. British Horse Society Stage 2 riding training programme. This part of the training programme may be taken with the stable management or separately. Learners need to have already gained a basic, balanced and secure riding position as required in Stage 1 and should be capable of jumping small fences. What qualifications will I need? Riding ' BHS Stage 1 riding. We have a weight limit of 13.5Stones Stable Management ' enthusiasm to learn. What will I be learning about? Riding: Working to improve balance and security Ride school figures using the correct aids Ride safely in company Ride independently in walk, trot and canter, with and without stirrups Jumping position Jump a course of fences Stable Management: Horse behaviour Stable design Watering and feeding Shoeing Grooming Clipping Saddlery Anatomy and physiology Horse health Lungeing Where will it take me? Progression onto Stage 3 What materials are required? Correct smart clothing ' jodhpurs, boots, current standard hat, gloves, short whip. Hairnet for long hair. What is next? BHS Stage 3 How will I be assessed? There is an opportunity to take a mock exam. Entry to BHS exams should be directly to the British Horse Society > How much will it cost?
