Award in the Prevention and Control of Infection Level 2 This course is assessed by our assessors in your workplace and can start at any time. Candidates will each have 9 hours of assessor support to complete their qualification. Aim of course This course is designed for people working in the private and public sectors of the healthcare service, particularly in domiciliary homes and residential care homes. The Level 2 Award in Prevention and Control of Infection provides learners with the knowledge and skills required to control the transmission of infection and contamination in the healthcare environment. Entry requirements Course DetailsContent The following units are covered: The principles of infection prevention and control The causes and spread of infection Claening, decontamination and waste management MaterialsText Book Requirements Students will be supplied with a workbook at their induction. Study Requirements You will need a great deal of commitment, and must undertake additional work as well as that done during assessor visits. AssessmentExamination Details You are required to successfully complete a candidate workbook and additional assessment activity. A number of workplace observations will also be required. Refund of fees will only be paid in the event the College cancel the course, or if you notify the College of your intention to withdraw from the course 2 weeks prior to the start date. Times of Opening are: 8:15am-9.00pm Monday to Thursday and 8:15am-5pm on Fridays. During half terms, Christmas, Easter and Summer breaks, opening times are 8.30am-5pm Monday to Friday. Rehabilitation of Offenders Please note, to help us look after students and assess risks, you will be asked to declare any unspent criminal convictions when you apply to do a course at Weymouth College. Please note Courses are operated on a minimum number of students and may, on rare occasions, be subject to cancellation. In the event of cancellation any fees paid will be refunded in full.
