Part time AS level Psychology Duration : 35 weeks Locations : Beverley, Bridlington Attendance : Part time What is the course about? Psychology is the study of people. From the workings of the brain to the interactions between individuals in society, psychology provides a means of understanding what makes us tick. What will I study? This course provides an overview of the core aspects of psychological theories and research. It addresses a number of questions: Is psychology just common sense? What makes us what we are, our genes or our environment? How can some people commit atrocities, such as those perpetrated by the Nazis? Why are some children very badly behaved while others are not? Why do men and women behave differently? Why do we remember some things, but forget others? Suitable textbooks will be recommended once the course starts. How will progress be assessed? How will progress be assessed? Assessment is by examination in June and consists of three papers. Paper one - one hour. Paper two - one hour. Paper three - one hour. What next? Successful candidates may wish to progress onto an A level Psychology course, followed by higher education. Entry requirements 5 GCSEs grades A-C Additional information
