Airline Cabin Crew (infill) NCFE Certificate - Level 2 Dates: 23 Sep 09 - 26 May 10 ; 30 wks. Times: 09:00 am - 12:30 pm Day: Wednesday Venue: Cranford Avenue Aim of course The aim of this course is to prepare candidates for entry to airline industry training. The qualification provides the basic background skills, knowledge and understanding required to work effectively as a member of airline cabin crew. It is ideal for those seeking employment or for those wishing to enhance their studies in Travel and Tourism. The qualification provides a realistic insight to the work carried out by airline cabin crew, thus dispelling the unrealistic glamorous impression which airlines feel many potential recruits display at interview. The qualification has been endorsed by BMI, the UK's second largest full service airline. BMI have indicated that the qualification meets their needs for well trained staff and have further indicated the value of the qualification by guaranteeing an interview for those candidates who successfully complete the qualification and meet the minimum criteria. Entry Requirements Course Details/Contents The course consists of 6 mandatory units: Understand the airline industry and the role of airline cabin crew Promote effective customer care in the airline industry Maintain effective team working and communications in the airline industry Contribute to the Health and Safety of airline passengers Contribute to airline security Demonstrate an understanding of the airport arrival process Candidates must successfully complete all 6 units to be awarded the NCFE Level 2 Certificate for Airline Cabin Crew. Materials/Text Book Requirements In addition to notes taken during sessions, comprehensive subject handouts are provided to each student. Study Requirements The course is intensive in order to cover the many aspects involved and in addition to 30 x 2 hour sessions in College, a series of home study exercises will be set by the tutor. On average this should take no more than 2 hours per week. Assessment/Examination Details As well as attendance and set home study, all candidates will be required to produce a portfolio of work that covers all the learning outcomes of this qualification. Fees - All fees quoted are for British/ EEA Citizens with settled status who have been resident in an EEA country for the last 3 years or have exceptional circumstances or exceptional leave to remain. If you are in any doubt as to your status please ask for advice on enrolment. Refund of fees will only be paid in the event the College cancel the course, or if you notify the College of your intention to withdraw from the course 2 weeks prior to the start date. During half terms, Christmas, Easter and Summer breaks, opening times are 8.30am -5.00pm Monday to Friday. Please note: Courses are operated on a minimum number of students and may, on rare occasions, be subject to cancellation. In the event of cancellation any fees paid will be refunded in full. Airline Cabin Crew CE5064 April 2009 Entry Requirement There are no specific recommended prior learning requirements for this qualification, but candidates should hold appropriate Level 1 qualifications or equivalent.
