7317 Assessor and Verifier Awards (Level 3/4) Level: Level 3 Part-time How long is the course/training? Courses are run by arrangement with individual candidates or their organisations. What will I be doing on the course/training? These programmes are intended for people who assess/verify or who are about to assess/verify National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs). They are not suitable for people who have no access to NVQ candidates. Assessor Awards A1 and A2 The A1 award is intended for NVQ assessors who assess using a range of methods. The A2 award is intended for NVQ assessors who assess in the workplace using just observation, questioning and assessing the work product. The essentials for the Assessor Awards are: NVQ Candidates for whom you assess whole units. An assessment team that you are part of, which meets regularly, and minutes its meetings. A qualified Assessor to counter sign your assessment work and give you feedback. A qualified Internal Verifier (not the same person as the qualified assessor) to give you feedback on your assessment work. Subject specific induction by your qualified assessor or internal verifier. The course programme is flexible, starting with induction sessions based on the practice and theory of NVQ assessing followed by individual or small group sessions to support you in producing your portfolio of evidence. Verifier Award V1 You will normally need to be a qualified NVQ assessor to register for this award. The award is based on direct evidence of internal verification work. The essentials are: A minimum of 2 NVQ assessors who you are responsible for. A cohort of NVQ candidates that you will take through to external verification. A qualified internal verifier who will countersign your work. Subject specific induction by a qualified internal verifier. The course programme is flexible, starting with induction sessions based on the practice and theory of internal verification followed by individual or small group sessions to support you in producing your portfolio of evidence.
