Course Description

This Twelve Hour Paediatric First Aid course was designed in conjunction with the National Childminders Association and Preschool Learning Alliance specifically for those working with young children. It is the twelve hour paediatric first aid course as detailed in the Early Years Foundation Stage. It may also be used to provide evidence to an NVQ assessor for those working towards and NVQ in Child Care and Education. Who should attendPeople responsible for the care of young children Course syllabusFirst Aid and National Standards Role of a First Aider Accident reporting and the First Aid box Incident Planning Casualty Action Plans Primary Survey Recovery Position Infant and Child Rescue Breaths and CPR Infant and Child Choking Asthma and Diabetes Seizures Allergic Reactions and Anaphylactic Shock Head Injuries Bleeding and Shock Burns Sprains, Strains and fractures Poisoning, bites and stings Eye, nose and ear obstructions Childhood conditions Heart conditions Meningitis Course duration 12 hours Assessment Continuous assessment by trainer Certificate A MGM Training Twelve Hour Paediatric First Aid certificate which is valid for three years, will be awarded on successful completion of the course We are a member of the FOFATO (Federation of First Aid Training Organisations) Paediatric Register
