Course Description

Course Content: What to do in an emergency Management of the sick or injured child First aid priorities - Primary assessment Management of an unconscious child and infant Recovery position Resuscitation (CPR) - Baby & Child Airway disorders including choking, asthma and croup Treatment of shock Treatment of burns and scalds Poisoning Management of wounds and severe bleeding Head injuries Eye & Ear injuries Injuries to bones, joints and muscles Anaphylactic shock and the Epi-pen Childhood illnesses including Meningitis and Seizures (Febrile Convulsions) Course Duration 1 x 6 Hours Course Material All delegates receive a comprehensive Emergency Paediatric First Aid Book at the start of the course. Assessment All delegates are assessed as to their competency by continued assessment throughout the course. Certification A certificate is issued to all delegates who complete the course, and are deemed to have reached the required standard, are awarded a certificate that is valid for three years.
