OCR EXT NAT DIP IN HEALTH, SOCIAL CARE & EARLY YEARS LEV 3 - CADETS A Two Year Full-Time Programme of Study The Extended Diploma in Health, Social Care & Early Years Cadet programme is ideal for anyone who has a focused career aim in nursing , allied health professions or social care. What Do I Need To Join This Course ? You will need a minimum of 4 GCSEs at Grade C or above, including English. Places on this programme are limited and priority will be given to students with higher grades. What Will I Study? You will study a total of 18 units - 9 in each year. The subjects studied in the first year include:- * Working to quality practice in Care settings * Working with service users in Care settings * Behavioural Awareness in Care * Applied practical Care in settings * Work experience in Health, Social Care and Early Years settings * Child protection * Creative activities for groups in Care environments * Anatomy & Physiology for Health and Care * Care in the community How Will I Learn? You will learn through a variety of methods including lectures, group activities, role play and presentations. You will develop skills in working in groups as well as individually in research based projects. Part of the requirements for many vocational higher education courses is experience in your chosen field. Working in partnership with East Lancs NHS Trust and BwD Social Services, this programme gives you extensive experience in Nursing Allied Professions or Social Care. Throughout the year you will alternate a week in college with a week in the hospital or social care setting working as part of the team on the ward or department. How Will I Be Assessed? Assessment is a continuous process and will include projects, group work, assignments and tests. What Could I Do At The End Of The Course? Students on the programme have priority for interviews at local HE institutes and your experience will be invaluable for progressing onto HE courses in Nursing, Social Care, Social Work, Physiotherapy, Radiology and other Allied Professions.
