OCN Level 3 Child Psychology Level: 3 Awarding Body: OCN STUDENT PROFILE This programme is designed for people who wish to gain an understanding of the principles and practice of Child Psychology, and the development of children. It is ideally suited to people working with or planning to work with children, or anyone interested in the development of children. No prior knowledge is required. Consequences of Breakdowns in Attachments 4. The Home, Family and School 5. Basic Principles of Research Methods 6. The Development of Visual Perception 7. The Development of Language and Communication 8. Intelligence and Intelligence Testing 9. The NatureNurture Debate in the Study of Intelligence 1 0. Data Collection and Interpretation Module Two - The Child as an Individual 11. How Children Think 12. Learning Theory ? How Behaviour is Acquired 13. Freud?s Psychodynamic Theory ? An Alternative Approach 14. Moral Development 15. The Development of Gender Roles 16. Aggression in Children 17. Methods Used in Child Development Research 18. Play 19. Learning in School 20. Behaviour Modification DURATION Students may study over any timescale of up to one year. To complete the course will take in the region of 90 hours of study. ASSESSMENT This course is assessed through a series of tutor marked assignments. No attendance at an exams centre is required.
