Course Description

This new suite of Health and Social Care units will support progression in employment in the following specialist areas: Management - residential adults, children and young people and domiciliary work Drugs and Alcohol work Mental Health work Youth Justice work Rehabilitation work (especially for people with sensory impairments) Some specialist generic areas of health Social Work The level 4 qualifications are designed for supervisory or management roles. They cover managerial duties in addition to the assessment planning and review of individuals' care needs. At this level you will have management or supervisory responsibility for other staff or a high level of autonomy in developing individual responses to the assessed needs of service users. You will be assessed in eight units. The level 4 qualification contains 4 core units. At level 4 ALL candidates must undertake the 4 core units (one of which is contextualised to the Adult Pathway) plus 4 optional units relevant to your sector. The level 4 additional unit is for continuing professional development (CPD) only and does not form part of the overall qualification structure. Candidate work role requirements: This NSVQ is for those working in a Health or Social care setting. It is designed for full or part time workers, paid and voluntary, permanent or temporary, as well as day or night workers. The qualification pathway for Adults at Levels 4 is relevant to those supporting adults of any age, in any setting.
