NVQ Level 2 Construction Operations - General Building Operations OSAT (On Site Assessment and Training) NVQ Level 2 Construction Operations 2008/2009 Programme Code: TA2GC Awarding Body: Construction Awards Alliance Related Programme Areas: CONSTRUCTION - GENERAL OSAT Who is the programme for? OSAT is for experienced construction workers with a minimum of 3 years site experience. It is for those who have skills and knowledge of their trade, but don't have the qualifications to prove it. OSAT is also designed to assist those who need to apply for a CSCS card. What will I study? Conform to General Workplace Safety; Conform to Efficient Work Practices; Lay Modular Pavement; Lay Kerbs and Channels; Set Out Secondary Dimensional Work; Control Establish Work Area Protection and Safety; Segregate the Area for Highways Works. Entry to the Programme? How is it assessed? Our Assessors will visit you on site and observe you while performing your normal duties. Our assessors will put together the required portfolio of supporting evidence of the work you carry out. This includes for example questions and answer sessions, photographs of work completed, witness statements, and statements of competence from employers and clients. Future prospects? Achieving an NVQ proves you have the skills and knowledge to do the job. It allows you to apply for a CSCS card after completion of the H&S on-line test. Being qualified and a CSCS card holder makes you more desirable to new employees, and able to work on larger construction contacts. When will the programme start? As OSAT is a fast track route to achieving an NVQ, it is on going throughout the year. You can start any time that suits you. How long will it take? The assessment is usually completed over 4 or 5 site visits. Typically, the whole process can be completed within as little as 14 weeks, depending on the variation of work that you are carrying out within that time frame. What about the Money? How do I apply?
