Course suitability Those wishing to enter employment in the electrical installation industry Entry qualifications We require you to have four GCSEs at any grade, including Maths, English and Science and to demonstrate a strong interest in electrical installation at interview. Aptitude test, colour blindness test and satisfactory reference. Information about the course A one year course covering the basic principles of electrical installation. Course content Performing Engineering Operations Level 1 Award: Working safely in an Engineering environment Work effectively with supervisors and close colleagues Wiring electrical circuits Installation practical and technology Projects and assignments Additionality Electrical installation theory/technology, practical installation competencies. All work carried out in fully equipped site-simulated conditions. Work experience will be encouraged for suitable students. As well as the Electrical Installation certificate, it is possible to gain additional related qualifications including Key Skills. Assessment Exam Continuous Assessment Portfolio Progression Course: City & Guilds 2330 Level 2 Electrical Installation - progression is not automatic and is subject to suitable reference from course tutor and numeracy at Level 2 Employment: All areas of electrical installation, including alarms, maintenance, heating/ventilation.
